Scranton family Portrait Photography
Every now and then I get a call about a family portrait session that involves around a dozen grandchildren. Most of the time I tell people I am not really interested in such a project. It’s not because I don’t want to do that kind of photography. I actually love the idea of photographing a half dozen kids.
The problem is usually managing expectations.
I could bring all the kids into the studio and get a very formal photograph, but things are changing in the photography industry as of late.
I like to think I am on the front end of that change here in Scranton. A family session with us is typically pretty crazy. It’s full of energy laughter and letting kids just be kids.
I like to capture children as they are and not force them into behaving in such a way that is not natural to them. What ends of happening is a series of pictures that are meant to be displayed together that represent the happiness that is a family.
Here are a few of my favorites from this session last week.
