Scranton Maternity Photographer
Crystal & Frank
Crystal is a wedding photographer here in the Scranton area and Frank is my Chiropractor. Yesterday, was actually the first time Crystal and I have met. We have talked many times via email and Facebook, but we have never run into each other before she asked me to do her session. One of the things that saddens me about being a photographer is that we rarely get pictures with us in them. We spend all our time behind the camera and very little in front of it so I was more than happy to give these images to Crystal when she asked. Later this week, I may even post some pictures of my family that were taken of us recently, but for now I’m happy to give the gift of photography to a photographer. Being a Scranton maternity photographer I know how meaningful it is to have this part of your families life documented in a way that you are proud of.
Crystal & Frank came to my home to begin their session and we spent a bit of time getting to know each other in person before the session started. I love getting to know couples before I work with them. Maternity photography is a very intimate experience. A soon to be mother is full of emotions that they have either never experienced or not experienced all that often so getting to know my subject before I pull out the camera is an essential party of my process. Getting people comfortable with me and getting comfortable with my subject is where the magic really happens. I often tell people that creating a comfortable environment for the photography to happen is the most essential part of my process. Once people are comfortable they are free to just be who they are and my job is very easy. I know that sounds strange to hear from a maternity photographer, but taking the pictures is the easy part of my process and vision for how I want the session to turn out. Collaboration between both parties is what makes the magic happen.
Here are a few images from their session that I fell in love with. I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoyed taking them.
I love everything about this next image. This abandoned home a block away from my house was the perfect location for this shot. I am so thankful that we walked through the woods to find it. The old abandoned boat was what I was originally looking for and was happy when we walked up on this old house as it made the perfect backdrop for this next series of images.
Being a Scranton maternity photographer is a fun job when I get an adventurous couple to work with. Both of these wonderful people were a pleasure to work with.
